Market A Business Through A Website Marketing Company

Features

In today's competitive world, it is very important to market a business and make its presence felt. Internet spreads information really fast. However, there are many websites on the Internet selling the same product or service.

So How Does One Make Its Presence Felt On The World Wide Web?

The answer is, website marketing. It is both simple and inexpensive. Online marketing helps the product to be shown to innumerable potential customers, increase sales from current customers, and increase revenue for the client. Search engine optimization is the order of the day. It helps reach billions of customers. If a business does not avail this advantage, its competitor will.

Some Of The Features Include:

* Search engine optimization/ keyword search
* Email advertising
* Online marketing
* Consulting services
* Analytics and monitoring

Unlike traditional marketing, online marketing helps the customers provide a deep analysis of their campaign. Online marketing also helps in real-time tracking with the help of analytics to keep a check on how the marketing campaign is performing. This kind of marketing also helps to reach the target audience by collecting information on gender, age, and demographics.

There are other things that a company can do to be seen on the web. One of them is writing a keyword-rich description title. Keywords should also be included in headers, in the first paragraph of the article, and in hyperlinks. It is also advisable to write a descriptive META tag. The keywords should also be included in this one or two sentence long description. The target keywords should be evenly spread in the article and in the webpage or the landing page.

There are other ways like issuing press releases, writing articles and newsletters to be published on other websites, and advertising through social networking sites to increase the visibility of a business on the Internet.

How Does It Work?

The website marketing company does a check of the history and the future goals of the client company. The next step is to analyze the competitors and the target market. Assessment of the current marketing strategy is also undertaken. A draft is then made on the basis of the information gathered.

Several methods like a SWOT (strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats) analysis, online advertising, email plan, on-site SEO, keyword research, content and link development planning are then undertaken. The client and the marketing company sit together to mull over the best marketing strategy. Once a marketing plan is zeroed on, the next step is its execution. After implementation, the marketing company also sends website trafficking, ranking, and various other metrics to the client company from time to time.

Local businesses can be easily advertised on the web by including the street address, zip code, phone number, and five or 10 other local community place names that the business serves. Other than this, the site should be submitted to key directories and to trade organization sites and specialized directories. All these tasks are easily taken care of by a website marketing company.

10 Habits Of Millionaire Internet Tycoons

1. Develop A Stellar Plan

Without a stellar plan to start your business, your business will fail. It will fall flat on its face. Start with a well-thought out plan. Consider what your ultimate goal is and create sub-goals, along with tasks. Break down your plan to daily activities. Schedule in your planner and complete them.

2. Are Gregarious Goal Setters

In setting up your business plan, make sure you gregariously set up goals for yourself and your business. Don't think small. Instead, think unreserved. In all your goal-getting, add ones that you only dreamed of. It is said that if you don't write down goals, you'll never achieve them.

3. Are Calculated Risk Takers

Being a calculated risk-taker is critical to becoming a millionaire. If you stay in the safe zone, you may make money, but not at the rate you will if you take calculated risks. Calculated is the key. If you are unfamiliar with an area of investment or risk, don't jump in. Avoid it until you know all the ins and outs of the thing. When you become a subject matter expert on a topic is when you are qualified to take calculated risks.

4. Showcase A User Friendly Website

There are a plethora of free websites available, and your Internet business will never survive without one. Create one and set up shop. Keep your website understated with simple graphics, lots of white space, bulleted descriptions and brief statements as to your goals and offerings. Make sure you have a RSS feed and e-mail subscription capability to allow visitors to sign up.

5. Blog With The Best

Millionaire Internet tycoons make it an integral part of their business to blog with the best. They set regular intervals to blog and keep their Internet community and membership abreast of what's going on in their Internet marketing world.

6. Have An In It To Win It Mentality

What does it mean to have an in-it-to-win-it mentality? It means you will do whatever it takes to accomplish your goals, and that you will not let anything stand in the way of your achievements.

7. Know How To Network

Networking is critical to growing your business. That's how Internet tycoons turn into millionaires. They network by joining forums, social networks, blogging, sending regular e-mail distributions and using other media to get the word out about their business and draw new buyers.

8. Know How To Work The Social Networks

You have to know how to work the social networks to your advantage. After you register with several, send out at least one tweet or notification a week to let people know something useful about your business. Start and send out a free training on something that is useful to the world at-large, but relates to your business. Send the brief training notifications out weekly or daily to maintain the interest of your audience.

9. Take Quarterly Respites

As important as it is to work your business, it is also important to take occasional respites. Quarterly weekend trips out of town with the family are a great way to recharge. Schedule them into your work plan. Also, budget the cost, so your business revenue does not suffer.

10. Know How To Celebrate

Millionaire Internet tycoons know to celebrate their accomplishments. When you arrive at a major milestone, celebrate. Again, budget your celebrations, so that they don't impact your bottom line.

These are only 10 habits of millionaire Internet tycoons. There are others, but start off with these. Integrate them into your way of life. Emulate these habits daily, and it won't be long before you'll have the same mentality as millionaire Internet tycoons.

Successful Strategies To Marketing Prepaid Legal

A large amount Prepaid Legal uplines still encourage their downlines to use marketing methods that were the only way to go about fabricating a MLM opportunity before the internet was a factor. They have them start with their warm market, i.e. make a list of friends, family, co-workers, to try to form their business along with using the 3 foot rule. This is where you are supposed to speak to everyone within 3 feet of you about the Prepaid Legal services and opportunity. These strategies still work for certain types of folks but not for everybody (very few in fact) and this is why so many people in the industry struggle to get the results that they are truly looking for.

The best way to get your friends and family to come aboard is after they see you having success with what you are doing and the problem with approaching people in public is that they think they are going to have to approach strangers just like you are doing, and that is hardly appealing to anyone. So what else is there? You must have a continual flow of fresh leads to connect with each day in order to have a flourishing business. What I am about to show you is a system that I use to create fresh, quality leads and prospects every day that will help form your Prepaid Legal business opportunity over the internet.

To begin with, you have to understand marketing. Learning how to market successfully is crucial if you want to generate your own leads. Marketing isn't making a list, using the 3 foot rule, holding meetings and cold calling. That is networking. Networking is essential as well but totally different from what I am speaking of. Marketing online is still a fairly new way to market but has grown to be an extremely successful way to sponsor new distributors and move memberships. When you gain the skill sets of marketing successfully, your Prepaid Legal prospects will be coming to you inquiring about what you have to offer in your business opportunity. Not the other way around.

Another struggle that the majority of network marketers have just starting out is having to dig into their own bank account to pay their monthly auto-ships or cover any marketing costs that they may have. This is one of the fastest ways to go broke in the industry. By plugging into this system, you automatically open up an additional 14-16 streams of income to offset these costs through affiiate programs, or some call it a funded proposal. By having a funded proposal you are able to build immediate cash flow while you are building your Prepaid Legal business.

Most folks looking to get into the business or are by now involved in Network Marketing don't want to hear about another company, product or compensation plan. We all have them. People join people. What they want to know is if who they are partnering with is going to be able to show them how to get results. You want to promote YOU INC. By branding yourself and positioning yourself as an expert in your niche, your prospects will follow you regardless of what company you are with. They want to merge with somebody that can show them how to market successfully as well. Most entrepreneurs don't get this concept. What if your MLM company folds and goes out of business? (it happens all the time) If you brand yourself properly your downline will follow you to your next business endeavor and you don't have to start over from scratch all over again for the reason that they followed you, not your company. Your business is YOU, not your primary MLM company.

You will also be forming your own list. You may not have heard this before but the power is in YOUR list. The larger your list grows, the more revenue you generate. It is crucial that you build your own list and not a list for Prepaid Legal or any other company. You need a page where your visitors can opt-in and actually become a lead. Once they opt-in they are added to your e-mail list and you have an auto-responder that goes to work and begins to build a relationship with them and does the selling for you 24/7 on auto-pilot. Your leads are driven directly into YOUR sales funnel and you will begin to get automatic sign ups.

Your internet marketing system will have a web page but not your Prepaid Legal company replicated site that everybody else has. You are seperating yourself from your competition and all the other distributors in your MLM. If you're not offering something else than what other Prepaid Legal distributors have to offer, why should someone want to join you? You will have a website that offers an excessive amount of value to your leads, prospects and team and can train them the online marketing skills in order for them to be lucrative as well. This web page will drive your prospects to where they will see your Prepaid Legal business. You are in basic terms offering value and leadership on the front end and selling your Prepaid Legal opportuntiy on the back end.

If you apply this process to your business, you will be generating endless leads and sponsoring numerous distributors into your downline every month.

9 Tips For Speed Dating And Networking

At a speed dating event you get to meet an awful lot of people in a very short space of time and the idea is that first impressions count, if you hit it off with someone and feel that you have things in common then you can meet up again later and take more time to build a relationship.

Speed networking is the business equivalent in that you a given a set period of time (2 or 3 minutes for example) to make initial contact with other business people. Just enough time to exchange basic information about your business and the service that you offer as opposed to an in depth discussion

The positive points about speed networking are that you get the opportunity to meet and exchange business cards with a relatively large number of other business people and at the same the time limit forces you to move on and eliminate the possibility of being stuck talking to the same person for a whole event.

For me, there must also be an informal networking session at the end of the event where you can take time to meet again with other people that you felt you were building a rapport with. In this way you can start the relationship building process rather than it just having finished with the exchange of a business card.

In these types of event it’s vital to have mastered the art of effective use of business cards. When you finish a session you may well have a pile of cards and find it difficult to be able to put a face to the card at a later date. This is one reason why my business networking tips below are essential to making the most of speed networking and speed dating alike.

1. Before you decide to attend speed business networking events take time to understand the format. Is it all speed networking or is there free networking time too? If you understand the format you’ll go better prepared and make more of the event.

2. Part of the above is about understanding how much time you have with every other person. If it’s short then you really need to have a well practiced and fine tuned sixty seconds presentation. If you’ve got a bit longer you can maybe afford to go a little more in depth.

3. You may be required to follow a set agenda in your meetings such as your name, your business sector etc etc. Knowing this in advance will help you practice the right subject matter prior to the event.

4. Speed networking when there is a fixed agenda is a very comfortable way to meet new people so take time to identify those people that you don’t already know.

5. Don’t be in too much of a hurry to give your pitch, let the other person talk first, in this way if there are any “common areas” that you want to exploit, you can then adapt your pitch to suit.

6. Make good use of business cards. When you exchange cards take time to read aloud what is on the other person’s card. The other person will see this as interest on your part but most importantly it will help you remember the face and the name at a later date. You can also use the business card to make notes. This is an important point when designing your own cards – make sure that the background is a light colour so that anyone can make notes on your card.

7. Considering point 6 – don’t forget your business cards and a pen!

8. Don’t loose time searching through business cards to find your own. Make sure that you have a place for those that you have collected and for your own. I use two separate pockets in my jacket or coat.

9. Finally, if you feel you have something more to say to someone and that there could be a synergy – make it clear! Now is not the time for polite conversation, be direct and let them know that you would like to have a further meeting and propose a date and time.

Believe In 6 Degrees Of Separation In Business Networking

You should follow the same rule in business networking as well. Always step out first to help the people at business events. Smiling and making others smile may not cost enough to you. Newspapers usually speak about the people who get promotions to high ranks in several companies. There exists an opportunity for you. Just get some blank invitation cards. Use the internet to search the companies’ office addresses. Give a hand written note on the card to truthfully congratulate the person on promotion and put off your business card along with it also. It does not cost you enough but it has the potential to make someone’s day and make him smile. This puts a good impression of yours in that person’s mind. But the more important thing is the curiosity which these cards generate in his mind. He is curious and restless enough to meet the person so much concerned about him. He wants to meet this unknown person. So this curiosity makes him respond you back. And now you have a very attractive opportunity to start your journey with successful people in the industry. Invitation sort of envelops attract people very quickly as compared to other envelops. Just do it right. Always remember to do it just once a week. There is a movie with the name “6 Degrees of Separation”. The title points out that every person is 6 degrees away from a very famous person. We are 6 people away from someone very important for us. You might be only 6 people away from your president, some Hollywood celebrity, or somebody very influential. Keeping this powerful rule of business networking can become the foundation for your constant achievement.

Attractive slogans are the major selling points of big brands. So brand yourself also with an attractive and catchy slogan. These slogans speak about you and your skills which make you stand apart from others. As the slogans put the brands apart from their competitors, similarly your slogan on the business card will make people think of hiring you instead of your competition. The slogan will be the reason people will remember you.

How To Run A Successful Event To Build A Better Business Network
Events are a powerful tool for marketers to truly engage their consumers and leverage their brand. No matter what type of event you plan to run, there are a few points you need to remember to ensure your event is a success.
A successful Event Marketing Campaign is one that:

* Meets your brand objectives.
* Delivers a meaningful message directly to the target market.
* Complements your overall marketing plan.
* Provides a talking point amongst consumers.

The Strategy

Choosing the right event strategy for your product or service requires a thorough understanding of the brand objectives. You may require an experienced event agency partner if you do not have sufficient in-house resources to help you to achieve your goals. Look for a good team of experienced and creative minds who are ready to analyse every element of your product and service and its current position to design the best possible strategy. The following points should be considered:
Event Outcome

Clarity and agreement around the issue of event outcome is imperative. Key stake holders will have different views and perspectives of what they want out of an event. Defining and agreeing the desired event outcome means that the correct approach is taken. It means that the creative development of the event and the content to all work together to produce the right results. Ask yourself the following questions.

* What is the outcome you want for this event?
* What change do you want to effect?
* What tangible changes do you want? Eg Increase in sales, lead generation?
* What is the best thing/outcome that could happen as a result of this campaign?
* When the road show is over what do you want the guests to be saying about the event over coffee to their friends?
* What would be the ultimate sign of success for the event?

Target Market

Your target group are your guests. They could be prospective or existing clients or they could be staff. Again ask yourself: Who are they? Where are they? Why do you want them to attend? What do they like to do? How do we get their attention? What do they think/know/feel about your company now? What do you want them to think/know/feel about your company post the event?

Think about what events they have experienced before either with your organisation or with your competitors. What is their age group, are they an even mix of male and female? Understanding your audience is a good first step in the event planning process.
Message

A clear message is critical to the success of any event. Knowing exactly what you want to say is imperative. It’s about what you want to say rather than how you want to say it at this stage? What is the main story you want to tell? What is imperative that they know when they leave? Communication of the message needs to be clear and concise. Consistency is key and your message needs to be included in each step from the invitation to web marketing campaign, to the event, the marketing collateral and the carefully planned post event strategy.
Brand Positioning

A good understanding of your brand position is crucial in building an event strategy. Is the event about a new product or service? Is it the launch of a new variable product or service? Are there set sales objectives for the product or service? Your brand position will assist in clarifying the best type of event your company needs and the most appropriate communication vehicle to engage your audience.
Creative

The creative development of the event can vary enormously. Considering the questions above certainly points you in the right direction to as to what kind of event will provide the most powerful result. It could be a national road show with international speakers or it could be a half day relationship building experience with key clients. A golf day, seminar series, exhibition, conference, experiential marketing campaign or any other various type of event should focus on leveraging your brand and provide a forum for you to connect with your target audience. Ask yourself how do we best represent the brand? How do we support above-the-line marketing strategies? How do we make it a memorable experience?
Planning

Finding your market and connecting with them in a memorable way is more than just guess work. It is staggering how many events are run with the minimum of planning. People are willing to invest significant money putting events on but they tend to overlook the need to invest in planning and smart thinking.

Planning is crucial to any event not matter how small and intimate it may be. Critical paths, risk assessments, measurable results, budget control are essential tools when planning a successful outcome. You need to plan on maximising the number of touch points with guests. Plan on results or you can guarantee you are planing on a disaster.
Implementation

With the correct planning the implementation of an event is the easy part. Ensure that every member of your event team have a run schedule of the event from start to finish so they aware of all timings. Rehearsals are imperative and why not consider professional speak training for all staff that will be presenting. An overall risk assessment is probably in the back of everyone’s minds but unless it is written down you are open to disaster. A good event company will also supply you with a thorough mitigation strategy to ensure you get a good result from your event no matter what.
Outcome

And we’ve come full circle. The results of your event should be measurable or how do you know if you have achieved good value for your investment. Events are all about building strong long term partnerships with your prospects and clients. When all of the above factors work together they create a truly powerful experience that not only moves people but motivates them to act. Remember your customers and staff holds your future in their hands. They control your revenue, your profitability and they are the central point on which your economic performance balances. Events are a powerful opportunity to leverage your brand and promote your services to this influential group.

What You Need To Know About A Career As A Network Engineer
In order to join the team of network engineers, you must have the necessary skills as well as a love of computers. As with any other career, you also need to follow certain steps in order to accomplish your goal. These are the top five requirements needed to become a network engineer.

1. While you're in college, take another computer related field. Although it's called network engineering you don't need an engineering degree. You also have the option of studying a totally different major or minor than information technology (IT).

2. While in school, try and hook a job in the campus IT office. Some colleges hire students as IT support techs that work in the dorm and classroom environments. The job usually counts as part of your computer studies and it is a great opportunity to build up your resume.

3. Learn how all different types of operating systems work. This is important because there are many businesses that use different systems for their computers and company laptops as well. Make sure to familiarize yourself with all of them, otherwise you will not be the broad-based network engineer that companies will hire.

4. If you get an internship, try and pick a company that specifically has an IT department or is an IT consulting firm. There are a lot more students majoring in the computer-related industries these days. That's why the experience you acquire needs to be a cut above the rest.

5. Communication is a key element in a networking engineer's career. Therefore, if this is the profession that you choose, you will often be working with others that are not as tech savvy as you will be. You need to be able to speak your special lingo in laymen's terms. If you have a problem with communication, perhaps taking a communications skills class can help you improve.

There are the chosen few that have had the ability to become engineers without a college degree. These individuals have been able to use their innate computer knowledge to gain some success in the field. However, are usually in the minority of network engineers because many who study on their own will lack other essential skills needed for this profession. Employers looking to hire a network engineer will most likely go for the one who holds the degree. They want to hire an engineer that will be able to adapt to many different scenarios and handle various issues that might arise. Network engineers that hold degrees have the upper hand because they know how to tackle any situation due to their advanced training.

It is always best to take it a step further after getting a degree in computer science or IT. There are important certifications to obtain that prove your knowledge of the important hardware and software used by network engineers. These certifications are named after the companies that make the equipment and/or the software, such as Cisco, Microsoft, Novell and Oracle. Cisco certifications are the most numerous, and most important. Of all of them, the Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE) is the "expert level" certification, and is held by fewer than three network engineers in a hundred.

Be prepared to work long hours and shifts that might start in the evenings. Businesses usually want all of the network maintenance completed at night in order to avoid disruption during normal business hours. There will also be many tasks that you will perform such as:

- managing anti-spam and viral protection;
- monitoring usage of the network;
- suggesting and providing IT solutions for business and management issues;
- installing, maintaining and supporting existing and new server and hardware/software infrastructure;
- ensuring that all of the IT equipment being used is in compliance with the industries' standards;
- using the most cost-efficient and -effective ways to use the servers;
- setting up passwords, user accounts and permissions;
- monitoring the way in which employees use the web;
- providing training to other users with varying levels of IT knowledge;
- working closely with other departments and IT staff members; and
- keeping all internal networks up and running.

Although there are many tasks to handle when you're a network engineer, the opportunity to take a love and knowledge of computers and expand it into a fulfilling career can be a life-changing experience. If you use the tools available to you, there is no reason that you can't obtain a degree, some industry certifications or both in this fast-growing field.

After leaving the corporate world and focusing on network marketing on a full time basis, one thing was crystal clear: people are people no matter what business they happen to choose to be in.

I personally have an extreme passion for the world of network marketing, and even though in some cases our industry has been given a black mark, as network marketers I feel we have not only a huge responsibility, but also a massive opportunity.

What is Our Responsibility?

Our responsibility as network marketers is to build leaders in the global communities using an ethical base that is consistent, and that treats others as we would like to be treated ourselves - and perhaps even better.

What is Our Opportunity?

Our opportunity is to build leaders using this ethical base, and have these leaders build millions of more leaders around the world, all using that same ethical base. Hopefully the end result will be not only a significant cleansing of the network marketing industry's image, but will also leave the world a much better place.

"Let me give you the definition of ethics: it is good to maintain life and to further life. It is bad to damage and destroy life. And this ethics, profound and universal, has the significance of a religion. It is religion." - Albert Schweitzer

During my time within the network marketing industry, I have been positively influenced by hundreds of professional network marketers. I also have met too many people within the industry who are the definition of why network marketing as an industry is shunned by the masses.

In life we get to choose who our mentors are, and I've had the pleasure of meeting several key people who I've been able to mentor with, a few of whom I would consider giants on this planet.

One of these giants is John Maxwell - an expert not only in leadership, but also in ethics.

"There is no such thing as business ethics - there is only ethics. People try to use one set of ethics for their professional life, another for their spiritual life, and still another at home with their family. That gets them into trouble. Ethics is ethics. If you desire to be ethical, you live by one standard across the board." - John C. Maxwell

In society today, we have a moral and ethical challenge like no other time in history. All you have to do is open a newspaper or switch on CNN and the corruption and moral downfall of our business leaders is front page news each and every day.

This problem also exists in Network Marketing because the industry is full of people. This problem does have a solution, if one looks close enough. If you are going to be a network marketer, make sure you are one that acts responsible.

It is my hope that this work touches millions of network marketers around the world. However, I'll consider it a personal and professional success if I can convert one "non-responsible" network marketer into a responsible network marketer.

Solid Business Relationships: How Do You Build Them?

Your Circle will have you, and helping your business grow, in their minds as they go through their day making new allies and you will do the same for them. It’s incredibly effective but you have to know what you’re doing…

If you’re new to Business Networking or you don’t feel like you have a good handle on things, join a Networking Group. Here I’m referring to one that meets on a weekly basis. For those of you already cringing and thinking, “I don’t have enough time for that, I’m too busy”, I’m going to be straight with you.

1. If so busy that you can’t take an hour out of your week to meet people who could help you grow your business then your business is thriving and you don’t need to network or to read this article.
2. You’re “busy” with activities that aren’t yielding sales or profits -activities others’ should be doing so you can concentrate on bringing in more business- or your doing activities that keep you ‘busy for the sake of busy’.
3. You just aren’t being honest with yourself.

Having a weekly Networking Group will give you the opportunity to develop a deep and lasting relationship with the members in your group. This may not occur with every member of your group, we don’t live in a Pollyanna world we live in reality. But you will develop enough relationships to build a core group from which to begin your Networking web.

Every state has local Networking Groups and there is a national group called Business Network International (BNI). Generally, these types of groups are exclusive, meaning there can only be one of each profession in each group. A great place to look is Google search. Just search Networking Groups in your city/state.

Generally these groups cost money but are well worth it. But, just like most things in life, you get out what you put in. So here’s the deal. I’d recommend you join a weekly group that has either a statewide or countrywide presence. In these cases, joining one Networking Group gives you access to all of them.

Here’s how it works. You join one but are allowed to visit the others for free. There are usually some parameters around how often you can visit other groups. Since these groups are exclusive, you won’t be able to visit a group if you provide the same product or service as someone already in the group. Still, there should be plenty of groups for you to visit.

The benefit? These organizations are tightly knit. When others’ visit from their organization, they are friendly and want to help; you will get a warm reception and a helping hand.

Now here’s where the magic happens: In both your weekly group and the groups you visit, set up 1:1 meetings with as many people as possible. Obviously focusing on those to which you felt a connection but don’t discount the others. Meet them for a cup of coffee or lunch if you prefer. Spend some time getting to know them.

Be careful here, this is not an opportunity for you to pitch them (visit my blog for more information in this area). This is your opportunity to begin developing a Relationship with them! Learn more about who they are, what they enjoy in life, about their family, etc. Sure you also want to learn about their business and how you can help them but the conversation will come around to that in due time. They will also ask about your business needs and the types of “leads” you’re looking for. Just keep prominent in your mind that your main goal is to build a relationship!

The more people you meet, the more people you know. The more people you know, the more people they’ll introduce you to and the more people you’ll know…your network is growing…. As long as you’re out there, this will continue and continue and you will be a participant in helping other peoples’ networks grow too!

As your network grows, you will learn about other networking groups and networking events. As you go to these you can introduce others’ to people you know and vice versa. You are becoming the Center of a Web, a Web of Influence. You see the picture?

This is what it’s all about, helping others! You begin by knowing few and voila, you know many. Through your many connections, you are able to help others. As you help others…you receive what you need. You will see your business grow, and grow and grow!
Building A List Of Network Marketing Prospects

You do not want to pre-judge these prospects, but you do want to pre-qualify them. In time, everyone should deserve the opportunity to at least see your product or be aware of your network marketing business - don't leave anyone you know off your list. They are the basis for the foundation of your network marketing organization.

A quick list of at least 20 people who are close to you or who you feel most confident in approaching should be the first names on your prospect list. You'll expand your list daily as you realize that everyone, young and old, white collar and blue collar, will all be open to hearing about your product and opportunity and may be interested in developing a second income.

You can literally reach people around with world with your network marketing business by contacting those you know, here and now. Physically write them down, and then look for opportunities to reconnect with them. Visualize them saying yes, then commit to guiding and assisting those who are interested in your business to the levels of success they desire.

A long-term, effective distribution network is built by building relationships, not by rules or policies or just playing the numbers. This will be your strength. Choose wisely with who you share your network marketing opportunity with, because you can only effectively help lead a few at a time into your business.

Contact people who are fun and those who you would enjoy building a business and sharing success with. The return on your investment will be determined by the value and potential you see in others.

Once you have a list of network marketing prospects, there are many ways to meet, qualify, and invite people to see and share your opportunity with. The world is full of people who have a need for your product and a desire for an additional stream of income.

By building your network marketing business, you will meet many others searching for a business opportunity. Be thoughtful, be attentive and be sensitive. Listen to people's needs and many doors will open for you.

An easy way to begin the process is to invite someone to a one-on-one meeting to share your product and show your business off. You can also invite them to attend a meeting in your area - the person hosting the meeting (usually someone who has been in the network marketing business awhile) will explain the product and business for you.

Often in the beginning, you'll want to meet prospects over a cup of coffee or just a casual appointment. Home meetings are an excellent way to expose them to your network marketing opportunity also. There's no reason to pay for the cost of a hotel meeting room, especially in the beginning stages of your business - network marketing is a home-based business, not a hotel-based business.

You should certainly qualify people prior to inviting them over. Have you heard of this product? Have you ever looked at ways of earning some additional income? Are you in a position to take advantage of an opportunity if one came your way? Do you ever look at ways to help others while earning a second income?

Be honest, upfront and sincere about your product and business when inviting people to see and hear about your product and network marketing opportunity. Your excitement, enthusiasm, belief and sincerity will come through, and they'll often be delighted and curious to see what you're involved with.

One simple way to get started is to invite people to your home by letting them know that a good friend and associate is going to share some information about your a product that is being taken to market through networking, and you can ask your sponsor or someone in your upline to present the opportunity in your home.

Whatever approach you use, keep in mind that your purpose for the initial contact is not to explain the network marketing business, rather it's to invite them to get together in order to check out your product and share in the opportunity. Clear the time and make sure they're available. Your sponsor should be able to give you some assistance in this area of effective qualifying.

Building a list of network marketing prospects can be fairly simple at first, but beyond the warm market you'll need to vary your approach and build a relationship prior to inviting them to see what your product and business is all about. Again, your sponsor is here to help you with building your list outside of those you know.

Bni Networking- Review

Many networking groups over time turn into mere coffee break socials, without many business referrals being shared. They become un-productive and a huge waste of time.If you are seriously considering making more money and expanding your business, you must consider locating A BNI chapter near you.

I personally visited several before joining a chapter. At every meeting I met people who are motivated to help their fellow members. These individuals come from all walk of life; attorneys, chiropractors, carpet cleaners, online business folks, work from home folks you name it. Each member stands up and hand referrals to their fellow members.

This is a perfect example of viral marketing, word of mouth in its simplest form. Any marketer knows (or should know) this is truly the golden nugget of marketing. Do you have or work for a small business? maybe you have a home business. whatever you do in business you can improve your revenue measurably.

But is BNI for you? They do have weekly meetings. At first I was concerned about having to commit to be somewhere every week at a specific time. But they do allow someone to stand in for you if you can't make it to the meeting. Also they do expect you to provide referrals to your co-members. The training you receive in this area will properly be enough to help you with providing referrals.
Opportunities exist amongst the members because a lot of them will use you to provide a service or product they need. Givers gain is the motto of all the BNI groups all over the world. This implies that if you give to your fellow members you will in turn gain as a result. As a member I can certainly attest to that philosophy.

10 Important Steps To Maintaining Your Valuable Networking Contacts

Hence, I'm going to discuss some steps you should follow so you can utilise these valuable contacts at a later date. You have to remember that the steps you take before you actually follow up will determine how easy or difficult the task will be. If you want your new contacts to be available when you need them, take heed to the following 10 steps:

1. Direct Your Conversation To Meaningful Topics

Remember, you normally have a very limited amount of time to chat with other conference participants. Hence, you don't want to waste any time discussing non-important issues such as the weather. You can spend a few minutes breaking the ice, at which point you should move to more important topics. This will enable you to maximise your time spent with as many event participants as possible.

2. Inquire About Their Professional Interests & Goals

If you find initial conversations with strangers a bit awkward, you can always ask a question about the event you are attending. This will not only break the ice, but also lead the conversation in the direction you want. Two useful examples are "What did you find the most useful point you learned from today's conference"? or "What are you hoping to learn from today?" These types of questions will pave the way for more general questions such as their other goals or their profession.

3. Create An Excuse to Follow Up Soon After The Event

Another helpful tool is to create a reason for you to contact any new people you meet during a business event. For example, listen closely to the other person and advise them that you would be happy to send them a suggestion, call them with relevant contact information or email them a recommendation. This will make it much easier to contact individuals because they will be expecting to hear from you.

4. Create A Follow Up Reason That Creates Added Value

Make sure you find a reason to contact the other person that will actually add value to them, rather than just benefiting you. Hence, there is no point sending a person you recently met your company brochure or resume unless they have specifically requested these documents.

5. Obtain A Business Card With Complete Contact Information

Don't risk losing valuable contact information when networking by scribbling names, email addresses or telephone numbers on the nearest available slip of paper. You should always request a business card so you have many available methods to contact them.

6. Write Notes On The Back Of Your Own Business Cards

Instead of jotting down notes on the back of someone else's business card, try the reverse tactic. Make sure to write down some ideas or specifics that you will follow up with on the back of your own business card. This will jog the other person's memory when you decide to contact them at a later date. This is also an effective method of making you stand out in a crowd.

7. Make Sure You Contact Them Within 2 Business Days

If possible, you should follow up with your networking contacts within 2 business days. If you will be away for a few more days, make sure to call or email as soon as you return to your office. If you plan to be away for at least a week, you can send a short email message to explain that you enjoyed meeting them and will follow up when you return.

8. Don't Start Off Asking For A Lot

You risk scaring off new contacts if you start requesting big favours. Wait until you have established a more solid connection. Minor requests such as the name of a great real estate agent generally aren't a problem. However, larger requests such as an introduction to the head of their company or access to main customers should wait. Very few people are willing to risk their professional reputation for an individual they have recently met.

9. Continue To Add Value Whenever You Connect

If you establish yourself as an individual who continually adds value, you will quickly build up an extensive network of contacts. Continue to send information on relevant areas or offer your assistance if someone needs help or has a question. Another great way to build up your contacts is to send people customers who genuinely wish to purchase their service or product.

10. Be Specific & Provide Context When You Ask

When you're finally ready to request a favour or information, make sure you specify exactly what you require. Explain that you felt they would be the best person to contact. This reveals that you have taken the time to deliberately contact them which will increase your likelihood of receiving a favourable response.

7 Reasons For Making The Business Networking Follow Up Call Part 2 Of 3

In a previous article I touched on the fact that following up in business networking is vital for ensuring you reap the benefits of actual business networking. I mentioned that there are seven reasons why we should make that call and here are three more reasons fo doing so
Reason number two for following up on your business networking is that by not making the follow-up call, you are actually rejecting your prospect.

Rejection, in all its various forms, is the underpinning fear that many of us have when we go networking – and you are doing it to them by not following up!

That’s bad for business because it taints your reputation in the business networking community!
Reason number three.
By not making the follow-up call, you show yourself to be unreliable and untrustworthy.

If, as most networkers accept, relationships are built on a foundation of Knowing, Liking and Trusting, then we fundamentally undermine the ‘like’ and the ‘trust’ by failing to call.

All that happens is that your prospect thinks you are unreliable.

They’ll think:

‘If that’s how reliable you are at the very start of a relationship, how bad might you turn out to be when I become a client ?’

They’ll also think you are untrustworthy:

‘He/she said he would call/send me some information on.../facilitate a meeting with.../introduce me to...’

It’s rude. They’ll think you don’t want their business and ...

That’s bad for business!
The fourth reason is:
You tarnish your personal reputation and the reputation of your company. You are an Ambassador for your brand when you network.

If it’s the first time someone has met you, or a representative of your company, then everything you say, how you say it, how you act, how you react and everything you do, sets their perception. We try so hard to create a positive first impression that it’s criminal to let yourself down at the first turn. Both yourself and your company will be judged on your behaviour. Don’t ruin it by your actions... or lack of them

That’s bad for business!
Look for the final article in this series of 7 reasons for making the business networking follow up call and discover the final three reasons why you should follow up.

Networking Industry Poised For Explosion?

If you are anyone like me or my wife, you might have (we did before) a strong disdain for network marketing or MLM businesses. To be honest, I don't really know where it came from, but I never thought that our "big break" in life was going to come from one of those "pyramid schemes".

But you know what? I was all wrong. If you take a second here, and go through what I have written I think you will understand our newfound perspective on the networking industry. Looking back a few years ago, we would never have thought that our main source of income would come from a networking business, but we are so glad that we were able to keep an open mind and profit from a wonderful opportunity.

I looked at the industry and I saw a few trends that are going to continue to increase as the years go by, and these trends have influenced me to get involved in networking. I wasn't hard sold. I wasn't convinced; but only by my own research did I develop a desire to get involved with networking and the TEAM.

I wasn’t foreign to working hard. I wasn’t stuck in low paying job. It was alright, but I was stuck as far as having a vehicle that would get me to where I wanted to be…and that was ultimately being home with my family.

I knew that I couldn’t invest in Starbucks; I was too late for that. I knew that I couldn’t invest in Wal-Mart, or any other of the great income opportunities that passed by me. But I did know that if I found a trend that was going to take off and boom just like these other companies did, then I would be much closer to attaining some of my personal goals.

Here is what I looked at:

· Increase in Entrepreneurial Activity

· Market Value within Networking

· Advent of the Internet

Increase in Entrepreneurial Activity

One of the things that I have noticed in the last few years is that there is an increase in the number of people who want to run their own show, to be their own boss. Maybe this is due to a currently shaky economy, or maybe big corporations with lousy employee relations. One thing is certain however, that more people are taking their own future into their hands.

If you look around there is a huge increase in small businesses as well as the age range of people branching out on their own. This only told me one thing. If people want to be independent of their jobs and careers, and want to start their own businesses, then many of them will be looking at “franchised” or “systems” type businesses.

The networking industry purposes to have the right business system for the eager entrepreneur; however, the networking industry has to solve some more of their problems before the “average Joe” will be interested in joining up with them.

The good thing is that the networking industry is fixing many of the major flaws that big companies have had in the past. What you see is an increase in Market Value.

Market Value within Networking

With an increase in entrepreneurial activity, networking companies know that if they are going to attract a large percentage of those people, that they had better work on their value and offerings to the public.

And that is what you see now. You see new and upcoming networking companies explode on the scene because they are offering something valuable. They don’t have inflated prices, and they provide a good enough compensation plan to attract many more people.

Because of this surge of small business interests, the value that network marketing or MLM companies offer will have to improve, or else they will miss that upcoming trend.

You often times here of those companies where people get in, never make money, and finally quit. Only the people at the top make the money, right? That has been true for many years because networking products and services didn’t match the industry market value. Instead there were inflated prices, with low or no intrinsic value.

What you see now are MLM companies that are decreasing prices, adding more value and marketability to their products, and increasing the profits that you can earn. Why are they doing this? It is simply an effort to capture the majority of those people who are interested in leaving their jobs and achieving their dreams and goals.

If these companies (I shouldn’t suggest that all companies are moving in the right direction, but rather there are a few that are) offer an opportunity that is low in start-up cost, and one that is “safe”, then they will have more people affiliated with their opportunity as well as more people becoming more successful faster.

Advent of the Internet

With MLM companies taking advantage of this last and final trend, the networking industry is poised and ready to take off and explode. It is ready to dominate the small business market, but only the companies with a true market value and a “safe” opportunity will succeed.

My excuse for not joining a networking company a few years ago was that I didn’t want to harass my friends and family. I had been harassed by others, and didn’t seem to particularly like it, so why would I do that to others.

However, the internet has come along and changed the way that people market. With the internet you are no longer geographically limited by state and region, but now you can reach millions of people just by utilizing the power of the internet.

What this means is that the process to building a MLM or networking company is changing as well. Gone are the days where you have to harass your family and friends in order to make money in MLM. Gone are the days when you feel like you are taking advantage of someone by “signing them up”, because with the internet you can reach thousands of people who are interested in your product or service and only deal with those people who want to be dealt with.

Summing It All Up

Are these the only trends taking off in the next few years? No. But I used these analytics to help me decide that getting involved with networking and TEAM was the right thing to do. Why wouldn’t you want to get involved in an industry that is going to explode in the upcoming years? I asked myself that question as I was trying to justify to myself why I shouldn’t get involved.

But the truth is… if you ever want to make money in any given opportunity, you are going to have to get involved before the trends start to explode.

I knew that was true, as I had wished that I had invested in Microsoft, or Yahoo, or Starbucks, etc. This was my chance to ride a surging trend to the top, and we have jumped on and have never looked back. We haven’t needed to.

The future is bright in the networking industry. As more and more people figure out that there is a “new” networking market out there, and that it is not all bad like it was many years ago, then we will see many more people becoming successful and winning in these business opportunities.

As more and more people become successful, then more and more people will be getting excited, and then the result would be exponential growth in the industry. Still wondering if these trends are for real? If you are, you can do two things…

1. watch them float by you and miss the tide of opportunity

Or

2. you can jump on, get excited, and build this new industry and take it to heights never imagined before

Tips For Building A Solid Networking Circle

Be selective. This is one of the most valuable ways to increase your productivity. If you form faithful, solid business relationships with companies that offer products or services that complement yours, you could potentially have a lifetime of referrals. Great networking occurs when one client's many needs can be satisfied by several businesses in the same networking circle.

For example, let's say you are a veterinarian. For every animal you see the following group of business professionals could profit from your referral and vice versa:

1. Breeder – to adopt or buy more animals

2. Local humane society – partner to examine newly adopted animals

3. Pet stores – partner to examine newly adopted animals or to purchase pet materials

Depending on what the pet owner needs and wants, at least three businesses can profit from the veterinarian’s referrals. This works the other way around, too. If any of these three businesses needs a veterinarian at any time, or one of their customers needs a recommendation, all three will point to the veterinarian. A smart vet would network with local businesses and be sure to return any business opportunities that came his way.

Make sure you partner with related businesses that aren’t competitors. This might seem obvious, but you need to think carefully about who you network with. The vet could partner with a pet hospital, but will the pet owners eventually decide that they don’t even need a family vet? They might conclude that they only need to go to the pet hospital when there’s a problem.

Ask yourself what your networking goals are. Some groups hold meetings where you learn about an industry or business techniques. If you want to just make contacts and learn about individual businesses, then seek out a group that only holds networking dinners or something more social than a presentation.

Visit group meetings if possible. Obviously if you are networking business to business, without the help of a group, you’ll want to visit the individual business owners. Maybe offer to take them out to lunch. If you are interested in a group, try to visit a meeting to get a feeling of the attitude of the group. Are they friendly? Are they supportive? How’s their leadership? Are they organized or are people just getting together to shoot the breeze?

Research. Do some research upfront and find out what businesses and industries could help you the most, and then give them a call or pay them a visit and start building concrete business relationships. This will save you time in the long run, because you’ll be building relationships with people that you know will help you and you can help them. You don’t want to spend an entire evening finding out that none of the people in that group can help you.

Networking Requires These 2 Things

Networking MLM is a very simple business. But keeping it simple does not mean that hard work is not involved. One of the common mistakes is that people try to make it complicated.

Even if a complex system achieved great results for you, others will find it difficult to copy. In networking MLM, personal success is not your greatest asset.

Your greatest asset is having a system that guarantees the success of everyone using it. The success of others, and your success, is dependant upon their ability to do the same things you do. Keep the least experienced of those in your network in mind when you set up a system of doing things for your organization to follow.

Everything you do must be simple enough so that everyone can quickly duplicate your efforts and achieve the same phenomenal results as you.

In MLM networking, you should not do things that require special skills, resources which are available only to you or to a limited number of people. Open up your business to a much larger pool of people who can become successful.
You need to build your network as quickly as possible. You can only meet with a few people each day and can personally close even fewer sales.

But using an MLM networking strategy, you can help others quickly learn to do the same simple things as you. When they do, they multiply your efforts.

Go for the same phenomenal results. This is quality duplication. Each person in your MLM networking, from top to bottom, must be able to exactly duplicate what you are doing and be able to teach others to do exactly the same thing. How large a sales team you can build depends on how well it is duplicated.

To ensure duplication, you need a system or processes that anybody and everybody can follow and teach. You cannot duplicate a person but you can duplicate a system.

In building a successful and long-term network, the MLM networking system must rule. Remember a system is only as good as it is duplicated.

The more complex a system, the less likely quality duplication will be achieved. To make sure you duplicate well, follow the System you are provided with religiously. There is no perfect system and your time is better spent perfecting your ability to duplicate it rather than perfecting a system.

Take this example. Ray Krocs, the founder of MacDonald’s cannot be duplicated but the MacDonald’s franchise system can be and is, to almost 100% perfection in 18,000 outlets worldwide.

Keeping it simple. To ensure you do things that your distributor can learn from and duplicate.

Is what I am doing easily duplicable?
Is it simple enough to be duplicated? Keep asking yourself this same questions and if you answer “yes” at least 75 % of the time, you are on the right track.

The most successful people in MLM networking business understand that everything must be kept simple in order to grow your business. Show others how simple it is to do what you do. They need to see you do it, and then believe it is simple enough for them to quickly duplicate to achieve the same good results in your MLM networking.

Computer Networking To The World Wide Web

People are asking the question: what is networking? It is a question that has so many answers attached to it. Examples for networking can be home networking, business networking, broadband networking to include networking cable and networking tutorials. Networking services are so flexible and diverse - a computer network business that involves networking jobs is a possibility, for example, affiliate programs are on the list of many. Competitors can gain an edge over those who are not networking for sales. It is important for business to begin Internet marketing campaigns, and for these same businesses to realize basic advertising principles still exist even when networking; they cannot neglect these principles. Most importantly those who advertise online have to be aware of their target audience and how to reach this audience.

Having a computer networking system where you do some market research before you launch your Internet marketing campaign is a must. Ideally this should involve hiring a research consultant with a great deal of experience in conducting and evaluating this type of market research. The results of this research should determine the basic demographical information for the target audience on the World Wide Web. This is one of many computer-networking solutions. At the start, basic computer networking is important with results that include information on how to reach your audience. If, however, your budget cannot stretch to hiring a consultant to conduct this market research, you should still make an effort to obtain this information under your own steam, so you can have an insight into the best way to reach your audience on the World Wide Web. This networking can be done through networking mlm and affiliate programs.

As you obtain this information, it is important to tailor the Internet marketing campaign to appeal to your computer networking services, as the right message has to reach the right people in a manner they can understand, and in which they can relate; the wording of your copy and the use of more advanced design features such as audio, visual or interactive tools will appeal if done correctly. It would obviously have to be a website that can greatly contribute to your cause and establish how people will view you. For example, a website which is designed to attract the attention of an older generation with more conservative tastes should include muted colours, clean design and conservative graphics, to ensure the target audience enjoys the website. The language on your website should be formal with facts to back up view points.

However, if you are looking to appeal to a more younger audience with liberal viewpoints you might chose to design the website with bold colours that should be eye catching - graphics with a creative flair. The language on the more liberal or younger targeted website should be more informal, focussing more on emotion and express viewpoints. For both websites you may wish to include audio and video clips to appeal to your targeted audience. This may be books or videos that you are marketing. Do not forget that computer networking is important to appeal to the people you are trying to attract to your niche audience. Keeping these details in mind is very important for your business to succeed. With networking do the right thing and follow your passion!

Measuring The Influence Of Marketing On Consumers

There are companies that encountered complaints from customer/s about the effect on using certain products. Customers are motivated to use the products due to the influence brought by the well known personalities (movies, sports enthusiast, etc) without due consideration on the effect of such product. Inefficient information on product features, benefits and proper usage may result to the company being held liable, hence, drop in sales and sometimes end up in court litigations due to customers’ complaints.

Why do a certain products sell more than the competition? It is obviously because of the company’s tract record plus the products are made through modern manufacturing technology acceptable in international standard that they claim through promotions and advertisements.

These companies must always maintain their performance standard at the highest degree. To be more meticulous about the product’s specifications including the smallest details to ensure continuous increase in number of satisfied customers.

Several years ago, companies from developed countries involved in networking business ventured to expand their business in Asian countries. When the business was introduced, many thought of it as the answer to their “HOPE” of uplifting their way of life. People who were enticed to be in the business were generally from the middle and upper middle class of the society. These are the employed, those who are into small business or the SMEs (Small and Medium Enterprises), OCWs (Overseas Contract Workers) in search for other sources of income. How many of these people can now claim that they are in the right business?

Sadly, a large number of these people who went into networking business failed and only a few were able to recover their investment. They started without having thorough knowledge on how to do networking business. Actually, networking business cannot provide immediate result.

People who have competence in networking business are the ones most likely to succeed. They continuously study or learn the needs of others and able to find a sound solution to their needs through networking business. They invest considerable time and energy in making strong contacts with people and usually do their networking activities after work. They see to it that relationships with their up-lines and down-lines are deeply nurtured to keep the momentum going and ultimately achieve their goals.

Business Meetings A Platform To Start Networking

Networking is all about building long lasting and strong relationships. So these business gatherings and events are just a beginning for any relationship. They just give you an opportunity to get started with a new relation. You can just have short-lived associations with various people at business events. Until and unless you make follow up strides or the other person takes the step, you will definitely stop thinking about each other in just two days. Here applies the rule “Out of sight out of mind”. So you need to make people remember you and stay in front of their sights or thoughts. Make them feel important by remembering them. Send them invitations for dinner or lunch. Send them greetings on events and festivals. Make them smile by remembering their birthday or congratulating them on their success. These and other such kind of steps can make people smile and remember you forever. This is the right way to build long lasting and continuing relationships through networking. Business events just play a role to provide a platform to get started.

No doubt business meetings are a great situation to find people of your interest. You can identify many business celebrities, you would love to make relationship with. You can meet lots of influential people there who can help you in future and may be very good friend of yours. Business gatherings invite many entrepreneurs, business owners, CEOs, big suppliers, advertising agents, distributors etc. you would be interested to start a relationship with them.

But to start networking, a face to face meeting is necessary. You should have a lunch or dinner, invite the other person for a coffee and do take some time to search information about the other person. This is the starting point of a true relationship. Do learn about him. Learn about their likes and dislikes. These things will make him feel very important for you that he has a special place in your heart.

On Networking Groups (part One)

So lets begin by analyzing the various types of groups. There are many different types of groups, but it is easier to categorize them by the meeting format rather than using individual categories like chambers of commerce or women's groups.

Most groups fall under one of 4 main categories. These are Social Networking, Business Networking, Leads Groups and Networking with a Program.

Social Networking

Social networking is a part of our daily lives whether we realize it or not. Each time we attend any function that involves a group of people we are networking on a social level. Whether we are attending a charity event, going to a party at a friends house, going to a religious service, or attending an organized social networking event, we are in a networking environment.

In most cases a large part of participation in these groups is not related to business. However, there are always opportunities to meet people who could be or know prospective clients. When you attend these types of functions, it is advised to have some business cards in your pocket in case you meet someone else who is networking for their business, but remember that business networking is not the primary purpose of the function, so be very casual in the way you approach others about your business.

Social Networking Tip:

Never assume that any individual at these functions is not a good prospect for your business. You will find many opportunities there. It is just good to remember that people are there for many reasons and may not want to talk about business.

Business Networking

Believe it or not there are very few groups or organizations that are simply "business networking groups". This category, for the purpose of our discussion is reserved for groups that do not have speakers or programs. An example of business networking would be similar to a chamber of commerce after hours. In business networking, you simply gather together with other business associates to talk about your businesses.

I find it much better to have a lot of time to talk to people about my business rather than have a brief period to talk and then have to sit down and listen to a program. This format enables you to really get to know people in the allotted amount of time. In some cases you can even do business with someone who you have met for the first time.

This format allows you to get to know people very well and sometimes helps to jump-start the relationship without having to meet for lunch or coffee at a later time. The only thing that makes this format difficult is if you are shy. For the shy individual it is sometimes not easy to just walk into a room and start talking to people they do not know.

Business Networking Tip:
Build a core contact group of people that you see at several different meetings. This will give you a broad base of contacts through these people as they are building their networks. Always get to know the "most popular people" in the room. They will often know most of the others and can help to expand your network quickly

Leads Groups
Leads groups are very structured. This is the largest segment of business networking. There are several formats to leads groups that vary in slightly different ways. In most cases the leads group involves sitting around a large table. Usually a leads group is limited to one person per industry. So if you wanted to be a part of a leads group that already has one of your type of industry, you could not join that group until there is an opening for you created by that person leaving.

Usually leads groups are about 5 to 20 persons in size. In most leads groups you are given a set amount of time to stand up and talk about your business ranging from 2 to five minutes depending on the size of the group. This is a dedicated time, no one else speaks and you take turns.

Leads groups are good for people who are shy or for those who have difficulty in a meeting with no structure. If you are a member of a good leads group, members are actively seeking referrals for other members. This can lead to a great deal of business if you consider the fact that everyone has a personal network of about 200 hundred people. This does not mean that it is the best format of meeting or not a good format, but rather it is good for you if you prefer structure.

Leads groups generally meet early in the morning or for lunch.

Leads Groups Tip:
Be sure to enable the members of your leads group to help you. Give them tools that they can carry to represent you when they encounter someone who needs your product or service. Be sure that everyone understands what you do and who your best prospects are.

Networking with a Program
A lot of trade associations and chambers of commerce follow this format. The meeting usually starts with open networking for a period of 15 minutes to an hour. It is then followed by a presentation by a guest speaker or a current member.

In this environment, you will not have much time to really get to know people unless you always attend the meetings. In most cases these meetings are best for initial contact followed up by meeting prospects for coffee or lunch. It is advised that you use a system of taking notes and qualifying prospects for later follow-up.

Generally these meetings end after the presentation and people linger for 15 to 30 minutes before clearing the room.

Networking with a Program Tip:
Get to know the leaders of the organization. In most cases they will know a great deal about the members as they work their way up the ranks into a leadership role. These individuals can be of the most help when seeking prospects or referrals.

Summary
As I said at the beginning of this article, your feelings on these definitions may vary from mine. It is important when seeking meetings to attend or groups to join that you have defined goals on what you are trying to accomplish. Be specific when setting these goals.

Remember business does not always come in the first contact or meeting. Be consistent for best results. Try to balance your networking with a combination of the types of groups and meetings that you attend. Each has it's own unique benefits and can help you with a well rounded presence in the business community.

My Dad Can Beat Up Your Dad: How To Pick Which Networking Business Is Right For You.

* The business should be established

OK, I know you have received emails from people touting their business with the tag line of, “get in on the ground floor.” There are times when you might want to do this. But, not in the networking business.

Why?

In the networking business there is only one reason to be in first. And, that’s if you are being paid “recruiting” bonuses and want to take advantage of the people who believe all the “get-rich-quick” hype.

In real networking, the money is made in the long haul. It does not matter if you get in the business the first year or the twentieth year. Look at businesses like Mary Kay®, Avon®, Watkins®, and Amway®. They have been around a long time. Their “ground floors” were decades ago. But, with companies with good products, and stability – there’s a lot of money still to be earned.

** There must be an actual product

Yes, no matter what some of the messages tell you, essentially no MLM type business is truly successful for the average person unless there is a real, tangible product.

Stop. Reread the previous sentence.

You will not make much, if any, money in a program where the product is MLM leads, recipe swaps, or mailing lists. These are mostly programs where only the members buy the product. It's a requirement of membership. And, usually the product is not of good quality. But, legally, there must be a product. If not, it is not much more than a pyramid scheme.

Your product should be one that is of value, and available to the public - not just members. In most cases, this means a real tangible product or service. So, when making the decision of whether the program has a real product, ask this question: "Would I consider buying this product if I were not a member?"

** The Diversity Of The Products

Many networking businesses you can join have real products for people to buy. Some have been established for many years, some are just starting. Some specialize in vitamins; others in beauty aids, and still more in discount products. Most specialize in one line, or type of product. Some have dozens, or possibly hundreds or thousands of products for you to choose from.

The more products your program carries, the greater your sales will be. And, diversity of products will increase sales. If you sell products to 25 households, you have a limited amount of sales if your program only sells vitamins. You may sell only one or two products per household, per month.

I'm not picking on vitamins. I sell them, among other things. But, substitute any other product for vitamins. Is your programs only product Internet access? You only have one sale per household per month. I've seen networking opportunities where the one and only product was gold. How much gold do you buy each month?

How much more income would you get from those same 25 households if your product list included the following items:

Laundry Detergents
Dishwashing Liquids & Powders
Paper Napkins & Towels
Shampoo & Conditioners
Vitamins
Bar Soap
Cosmetics
Energy Drinks
Weight Loss Products
Long-Distance Phone Service
Toothpaste & Mouthwash
Coffee & Tea
Internet Access
All-Purpose Cleaner

How many of these types of products will you buy this week?

There are networking businesses that sell all of those items, and more. It may take some checking, but you can find them. Don't limit your income potential with a business that limits what you can sell.

** Does The Company Stand Behind The Products?

Does the company you are considering have any guarantees for the products? If the product is not as expected, may you return it for a refund? If your customers who are not members are not happy with a product, may they return it for a refund?

These are important questions. If the company has no written refund policy, preferably 100%, then why should you buy their products? If your customers cannot return a product they are not satisfied with, they will not continue to be your customers.

Not all networking businesses have a written return policy. The good ones do. The best ones will offer 100% return. There's not a lot that do this. This one item separates the good from the bad very quickly.

** Product Ordering & Delivery

If you sell products to people who do not become members of your program, how is this handled? Do you order it for them? Is it shipped to them, or is it shipped to you? Does your customer pay you, or does your customer pay the company.

These are all valid questions, if your program allows selling to non-members. And, if it does not allow this, you should probably avoid the program.

We are in the technological age. With the Internet and 1-800 phone numbers for product ordering, and with inexpensive delivery services; your customers should be able to order by themselves. This is called "direct fulfillment". Your customers have a catalog (online or offline), orders and pays for the product themselves, the product is shipped directly to them, and you get credit for the sale.

The networking plan you look at should have this feature. It's easier for you, and it's easier for the customer. It also eliminates you having to worry about whether the customer is going to pick up and pay for the products after you have ordered and paid for them.

** The Pay Plan

If you are familiar at all with MLM, network marketing, or anything similar; then you have come across pay plans based on a matrix. Plans that describe themselves as a 2 X 8, 3 X 5, or some other type of matrix. That means you are limited to a certain number of people in your organization.

As an example, in a 3 X 5 matrix, your organization can only be 3 legs wide. If you recruit more than 3 people, those people go down to the next unfilled level. The same for the people you recruit. As the 5th level fills, no one else who is recruited is a part of your business. You only earn money on the sales generated by the people who fit into your matrix.

So, if you recruit someone when your matrix is almost full, they will probably be on your fifth level. Then if that person recruits 100 people, you do not earn anything from those 100 people because they are six levels deep in a five level matrix.

Other plans sometimes refer to themselves as 2-tier. This usually means that you may have an unlimited number of people on your first level. But, your organization is only two levels deep. So, if someone on your second level recruits 100 people, they are not in your organization.

If you look at these plans closely, notice that the ones that allow you more people on your first level are usually the ones you can make more money with. So, a 2 X something plan will usually make you less money than a 3 X something plan, which usually makes you less money than a 5 X something plan.

The ideal plan will allow unlimited "width.” You width is the first number of the matrix. In a 3 X 5 plan, your width is limited to 3 people. An ideal plan would also allow unlimited "depth.” In a 3 X 5 plan, your depth is limited to 5 levels. So, your ideal plan would have unlimited width and depth. Not many pay plans allow this, but some do.

As an example: there is a man who lives about five minutes away from me. He is associated with the same networking business as I am, but about 18 years longer. I am on his 25th level – maybe deeper. But, he still earns some money from my purchases.

** Training and Support

One requirement in most networking businesses is that there be training provided. Basically, if you recruit someone - you do the training. In most networking businesses this is in the form of a members-only website. You sign up, pay the money, get access to a website, and that is considered your training.

The website will have the usual list of search engine submission services, FFA submission pages, banner ads for your use, suggested classified ads for online ad sites, etc. But, nowhere in the mix is an actual human for you to get advice from.

If you decide to join a networking business, be sure there is some real networking. Will you ever get to meet your sponsor; will you even get the real name of your sponsor? Who do you call if you have a problem? Or, can you call someone at all? These are all questions to ask before joining.

Some networking businesses have optional meetings or conferences for you to attend. This should not be regarded as a bad thing. It is at these meetings that the real training takes place. You also have the opportunity to talk to many other people who are doing the same thing. It's an opportunity to share ideas & strategies. Personally, I try to get to everything within driving distance. It just makes sense.

** The nutshell

As with anything else, if you are offered a chance to get into a networking business that sounds too good to be true – it probably is. To make a living in networking requires committing to the long-term. The real money is in the residuals you get next month, next year, five years from now. You need to commit to 10-12 hours a week now to begin to see results six months from now.
